The Natural Heritage Partnership Programme (NHPP) provides funding for individuals and community groups to undertake projects to enhance the environment. It is funded by the Natural Heritage rate of $15 per property and the NHPP Funding Policy outlines what can be funded.

Natural Heritage Partnership Programme objectives

The objectives of the Natural Heritage Partnership Programme are:

  • Increasing positive biodiversity outcomes across the region.
  • Supporting the community to develop and lead their own biodiversity projects.
  • Inspiring and educating people in the region to either be involved or supportive of biodiversity work and to understand and place value on it.

Fund types and funding policy

There are three funds available to support biodiversity projects.

  • Natural Heritage Fund (NHF) for large-scale projects.
  • Environmental Initiatives Fund (EIF) for medium-scale projects.
  • Small Scale Community Initiatives Fund (SSCIF) for small-scale projects.

The NHPP Funding Policy outlines the criteria for each fund.
