Annual Report for Biodiversity 2025/26

The Biodiversity Annual Report summarises the non-regulatory biodiversity-related work completed by Waikato Regional Council across multiple directorates during the 2025/26 year.

The report brings together the council’s biodiversity work across the organisation, covering strategic leadership, restoration partnerships, priority biodiversity sites, shallow lakes and wetlands, biodiversity monitoring, coastal science, tools and innovation, and policy reform.

It complements the Regional Pest Management Plan Operational Annual Report, which is required under the Biosecurity Act 1993.

This is a non-statutory document, and financial information is provided in summary form only.
