Be a road safety hero
Waikato Regional Council is committed to education as a key tool in achieving better road safety outcomes across our region. During the 2026 Road Safety Week (4-10 May), we are highlighting lives lost on our roads, as well as acknowledging the everyday heroes who help keep others safe.
Road Safety Week ribbon displays
During Road Safety Week 2026 (4-10 May), ribbon displays can be seen across the Waikato region. These ribbons are a visible reminder of:
· Lives lost on our roads
· People seriously injured by road crashes
· Our shared commitment to prevent future harm.
They encourage all of us to pause, reflect, and think about how our own choices on the road can help keep others safe.
