Working together
In order to make the best gains for our region, we know that we must work together with others.
From the beginning of this project, we’ve partnered with a range of stakeholders and water users including iwi, other agencies and organisations as well as individuals and community groups to ensure the full range of needs and views are taken into account in freshwater management planning.
This input has been invaluable in getting us to the point where we now have the Waikato Freshwater Strategy in place.
In order for the Freshwater Strategy to be successful however, it needs the continued coordinated support of the wider regional community to advocate for and secure access to new policy options from central government and continued investment in regional freshwater information systems and databases. We will continue to work with these groups to progress this.
