2022/23 Annual Plan | 2022/23 Mahere ā-Tau

PS22/08

Waikato Regional Council's 2022/23 Annual Plan | Mahere ā-Tau is our statement to the community about our proposed finances and service performance from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.

Annual plans are largely determined by our long term plan (LTP), although strategic adjustments are sometimes required to ensure planning remains responsive to near-term opportunities and challenges.

For 2022/23, we opted to stick closely to the programme we signalled in our 2021-2031 Long Term Plan. However, we identified one significant adjustment, and took a public transport proposal to public consultation in April 2022.

We received 155 responses, which informed council’s decision to pick up rating for public transport services in Thames-Coromandel, Hauraki and Matamata-Piako districts in place of those district councils.

Council has not made provision for new services in these districts within the LTP amendment or annual plan, as originally proposed, but will continue public engagement and develop service details ready for future deployment. You can find out more about this amendment to our long term plan here.

The 2022/23 Annual Plan and Amendment to the 2021-2031 LTP was adopted by Council on 20 June 2022.
